Inclement Weather Information

On those occasions when schools need to be closed because of inclement or unsafe weather conditions, the school system will communicate this information as quickly and as widely as possible. The system will use the Blackboard Connect® telephone messaging service to attempt to notify every household of a Cartersville City student if schools will be closed or delayed in opening.

Additionally, the system will notify participating media sources (TV and radio) in these incidents. The announcement will also be posted on the system web site as soon as possible.

Since the system uses Blackboard Connect® telephone messaging service, it is imperative that parents keep the school apprised of changes in any contact phone numbers.

In the case where schools must close early once students have already arrived and school is in session, the system will send out that information via Blackboard Connect® and notify the media. That announcement will contain the time that schools will be closing and other relevant information.
