Cartersville Primary School: 1997 Georgia School of Excellence and a Blue Ribbon National School of Excellence nominee.

Cartersville Middle School:
Art Display at State Capitol during Youth Art Month: Rachel Teague, Peter Ewchuk.

Business Session

Reviewed and approved School and System Financial Reports and Maintenance Report as presented;
Approved the purchase of a new CPS copier from Riddle Office Products (Sharp SF-2030) at a low bid cost of $3,420;

Consent Items Approved
Approved the following items: Board Minutes of November 11, 19 and 25, 1996; Approved bid specifications for new window blinds for CHS.

Committee Recommendations Approved

Finance Committee, Mr. Jim Kennedy, Jr., Chrm. Approved amending the FY97 Budget to show receipt of funds listed below and authorize expenditure as designated:
-$96,520.11 interest adjustment on accounts under contract.
-$2,025.00 federal impact aid funds.

Building & Grounds Committee, Mr. Steve Owen, Chrm. Authorized superintendent to enter into contracts for work, services and materials to be used in the extension of the CHS student parking lot, not to exceed $25,000 in local school system funds. Extension to provide approximately 120 additional parking spaces.

Policy Committee, Mr. Richard Odom, Chrm. Approved recommendation to place on table for review Policy II, Testing Programs - Student Assessment, due to state revision by Georgia Board of Education; Approved recommendation to approve revised Policy GBU, Code of Ethics, due to state revision by Georgia Board of Education.

Personnel Recommendations Approved
