Message from the Principal

Welcome to Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia. Originally established September 5, 1889, CHS currently has approximately 1100 students in grades 9-12. Located on the corner of US Highway 41 and East Church Street in Cartersville, the high school is centrally located in the downtown business district. The main entrance and office to the school is off of Church Street.

Traditionally, Cartersville High School has provided students with a rich, diverse curriculum and is committed to academic excellence. It is my sincere hope and intention to continue this tradition at CHS by providing a supportive, safe learning environment that will continue to foster and produce well-rounded, educationally sound young men and women ready to navigate successfully whatever roads they decide to travel once they leave our doors. Most importantly, I want their experience at CHS to be memorable and mentioned with pride.

There’s no doubt about it: our teachers and staff members are very special people with a special calling and a special challenge to do extraordinary work. Few professionals will touch as many lives in such a profound way as they will this year. That is the power and responsibility inherent in being an educator.

Best Regards,

Jaybez F. Floyd
