Dual enrollment provides opportunities for Georgia high school students to take college level courses and earn concurrent credit toward a high school diploma and a college degree.
Eligibility requirements vary by college. Check college websites for specific information.
Courses taken at a college must be approved by the student’s counselor.
Accel Program
-Students may be enrolled part-time or full-time in college level coursework.
-All hours paid by the Accel program will count against the 127 semester hour cap for the HOPE Scholarship.
-Students must meet eligibility requirements for the Accel Program and for the individual college.
HOPE Grant Program
-For students seeking technical certificates or diplomas from a Technical College System of Georgia institution.
-Students must meet eligibility requirements for the college.
Move On When Ready (MOWR)
-Students must take all of his or her courses through the college.
-Funding for MOWR students is provided through FTE, as arranged by the Department of Education.
-Students must meet eligibility requirements for the college.
Responsibilities of students interest in Dual Enrollment:
Check the qualifications required for the specific college
Take the SAT or ACT
Attend the Dual Enrollment meeting during the fall
Take to your counselor early in the year before you plan to participate in Dual Enrollment
Complete all necessary paperwork
Apply by the college deadline
